Every year, on the last Friday in July, is National System Administrator Appreciation Day, also known as Sysadmin Day. This day was created to show appreciation for all of the work system admins and other IT workers do. The first one was celebrated on July 28th, 2000. This year it is celebrated on Friday, July 29th, 2023.

Let’s think about how many times we say, “I forgot my password” “I’m locked out” “I can’t log into my email” “Oops I didn’t mean to delete that” “My computer crashed” “I shouldn’t have clicked on that, now I have a virus.” Do these issues fix themselves? No, your IT (system administrator) hero saves the day. Let’s take this opportunity to thank them and let them know how much you appreciate them for saving you, your computer, your data, and possibly your job or business.
